The United Nations Command Security Force–Joint Security Area (UNCSF–JSA) is a specialized military unit responsible for maintaining security and stability within the Joint Security Area at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Established in 1953 following the Korean Armistice Agreement, the unit operates under the United Nations Command and consists primarily of U.S. and Republic of Korea (ROK) personnel. The UNCSF–JSA oversees the enforcement of the armistice, facilitates diplomatic engagements between North and South Korea, and ensures the safety of personnel and visitors in the area.
