The 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment (1/502 IN), known as the "First Strike" Battalion, is a distinguished unit of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Activated in 1942, the battalion fought valiantly in World War II, participating in major operations such as the Normandy landings (D-Day), Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. Over subsequent decades, 1/502 IN served with distinction in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, adapting to diverse combat environments. The Joint Security Area (JSA) is a unique military unit and area located within the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), established following the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement. It serves as the only point where North and South Korean forces stand face-to-face, and where diplomatic engagements and negotiations between the United Nations Command, North Korea, and South Korea routinely occur. The JSA has witnessed several tense incidents, including the 1976 "Axe Murder Incident," which led to increased security measures and changes in operational protocols. Today, it remains a symbol of both enduring conflict and fragile diplomacy on the Korean Peninsula.

The 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (2ND ACR), now known as the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, is a storied unit of the United States Army with origins dating back to 1836. Originally formed as the 2nd Regiment of Dragoons, it has served in numerous conflicts, including the Mexican-American War, Civil War, Indian Wars, World War I, World War II, the Cold War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom.
