The 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines (3/12) is an artillery battalion of the United States Marine Corps, activated in 1942 during World War II. It played a significant role in the Pacific Theater, notably participating in the battles of Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima. During the Vietnam War, 3/12 provided vital fire support for Marine and allied forces throughout the conflict. Today, 3/12 is stationed at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, and remains a key component of the 3rd Marine Division, providing artillery support and rapid-deployment capabilities throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

The 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines (3/1), known as "Thundering Third," is an infantry battalion of the United States Marine Corps, first activated in March 1941. The battalion distinguished itself during World War II with notable action in the Pacific, including campaigns at Guadalcanal, New Britain, Peleliu, and Okinawa. In the Korean War, 3/1 participated in major operations such as the Inchon Landing and the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. More recently, 3/1 has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, including heavy combat during the Second Battle of Fallujah, as well as operations in Afghanistan.

Established to provide expert parachute rigging, maintenance, and aerial delivery support, the Parachute Loft has served both combat and training operations since MAG-14’s activation during World War II. Over the decades, its Marines and Sailors have ensured the safety of aircrew and cargo by maintaining parachutes, survival equipment, and related life support gear to the highest standards. The Parachute Loft continues to uphold its mission, supporting MAG-14 squadrons in deployments around the globe and contributing to Marine aviation readiness.
HMH-463

Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 (HMH-463), known as the "Pegasus," was first activated in 1944 during World War II to support operations in the Pacific Theater. Reactivated during the Vietnam War, HMH-463 became renowned for its heavy-lift capabilities, operating the CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters to conduct troop transport, supply missions, and combat support. Over the decades, the squadron played a vital role in major conflicts and humanitarian missions, including Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. After decades of distinguished service, HMH-463 was deactivated in 2022 as part of the Marine Corps’ force modernization efforts.
