The 1st Battalion, 51st Infantry Regiment (1-51 IN) was originally constituted on 15 May 1917 in the Regular Army and organized at Chickamauga Park, Georgia. It served with distinction in World War II as part of the 4th Armored Division, participating in campaigns across Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. During the Cold War, the battalion was stationed in Germany, providing security and conducting infantry operations along the front lines of NATO. Over its history, 1-51 IN has earned numerous campaign streamers and honors, reflecting its long-standing commitment to excellence and service.

The 176th Medical Brigade is a United States Army Reserve unit with a distinguished history of providing medical support and care.
