The 2nd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment (2/15th Infantry) is a distinguished unit of the United States Army with a history dating back to its formation in 1861 during the American Civil War. The battalion has participated in major conflicts, including the Indian Wars, World Wars I and II—where it saw significant action in North Africa, Sicily, and Europe—as well as the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In more recent history, 2/15th Infantry has deployed in support of peacekeeping and combat operations in the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Today, the battalion continues to serve as part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, maintaining its legacy of excellence and service.
