USS San Jacinto (CG-56)

USS San Jacinto (CG-56) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned into the United States Navy on January 23, 1988. Named after the Battle of San Jacinto, the ship has played a significant role in various operations, including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, providing air defense, maritime security, and strike capabilities. San Jacinto gained international attention in 2009 for its involvement in the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates.
