USS Memphis (SSN-691) was a Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine commissioned by the United States Navy on December 17, 1977. Built by Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia, Memphis served with distinction during the Cold War, participating in numerous intelligence-gathering missions and fleet exercises.
