USS Germantown (LSD-42) is a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship commissioned into the United States Navy in 1986. Designed to support amphibious operations, Germantown has played a key role in transporting Marines, equipment, and landing craft to global hotspots. The ship has participated in numerous exercises and real-world operations, including Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and humanitarian missions in the Asia-Pacific region.
