Heli-tron 8, based at Ellyson Field in Pensacola, Florida, was a United States Navy helicopter training squadron active during the Cold War era. Established in the late 1950s, the unit played a pivotal role in advanced rotary-wing training for Navy, Marine Corps, and allied student pilots.
