I was a clerk in VMF 222 office, Cherry Point, North Carolina for nearly a year. I entered the Marine Air Force upon my graduation from Ava High School May, 1946.
I was assigned to Parris Island, South Carolina, May 1946. I completed the boot training, Sgt Dicky was our DI. Looking for other Boots that served with me. We were flown to Cherry Point.
I was assigned to the Golden Gate Company Band. We met in the Hanger on Treasure Island. The Company spent week during the summer at Camp Pendleton.
