Sierra Company, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines (5/11), part of the 1st Marine Division (1st MARDIV), has a distinguished legacy within the United States Marine Corps. Originally activated during World War II, 5/11 provided crucial artillery support in campaigns such as Guadalcanal and Okinawa.
