Korean Marine Blue Dragon

The Korean Marine Blue Dragon unit, officially known as the Republic of Korea Marine Corps 2nd Marine Brigade, was established in the early 1950s and gained international recognition for its deployment during the Vietnam War. From 1965 to 1972, the Blue Dragon Brigade was sent to South Vietnam as part of South Korea’s commitment to support U.S.-led operations, earning a reputation for discipline and combat effectiveness. The unit conducted a variety of missions, including security operations, search-and-destroy missions, and civic action projects to win local support.
