**Military History of Embassy Duty Costa Rica:** The United States Marine Security Guard Detachment, commonly known as "Embassy Duty Costa Rica," was established at the U.S. Embassy in San José in the mid-20th century as part of the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group’s global mission.
