The 5th 175mm Gun Battery was a specialized artillery unit equipped with the M107 175mm self-propelled gun, primarily designed for long-range fire support. Activated during the height of the Cold War, the battery contributed to NATO’s deterrence posture in Europe, frequently participating in large-scale field exercises.
