97th QuarterMaster Battalion

The 97th Quartermaster Battalion was first constituted on 1 May 1936 in the Regular Army and activated on 1 June 1941 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. During World War II, the battalion provided critical logistical and petroleum support in the European Theater, notably participating in campaigns across Northern France and Central Europe. After the war, the battalion was inactivated and reactivated several times, supporting various operations including Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
