The US Army Advisory Group, Korea (KMAG) was established in 1949 to assist in the training and development of the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) in the aftermath of World War II. As North Korea invaded in 1950, KMAG played a crucial role in advising and supporting South Korean forces throughout the Korean War, helping to modernize the ROKA's organization, tactics, and logistics.
