Oregon National Guard

The Oregon National Guard traces its origins to the formation of volunteer militia companies in the Oregon Territory during the mid-1800s, tasked with defending settlers and supporting federal military operations. Officially established in 1887, the Oregon National Guard has since served in every major U.S. conflict, from the Spanish-American War to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
