Headquarters, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) is a distinguished unit of the Tennessee Army National Guard, with its lineage tracing back to the early 19th century as part of Tennessee's volunteer militia. The regiment was officially designated as the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment in 1977, continuing a tradition of service in various forms throughout American history, including federal activation during World War II and the Cold War.
