Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 5th Battalion, 33rd Armor, traces its lineage to the 33rd Armor Regiment, originally constituted in 1941. The battalion served with distinction in Europe during World War II, participating in major campaigns such as Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe.
