The battalion has served with distinction in major conflicts, including World War II, where it earned honors in campaigns across Europe, and the Vietnam War, participating in several significant operations. As part of the 4th Infantry Division, HHC 3-8 IN played key roles in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
