The Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 264th Supply and Service Battalion (HHC 264 SUP & SVC BN), was first constituted on 23 March 1966 in the Regular Army and activated on 1 June 1966 at Fort Hood, Texas. The battalion played a pivotal role in providing logistical, supply, and service support to U.S. Army units, most notably during its deployment to Vietnam, where it earned campaign participation credit for multiple major operations. After Vietnam, the 264th continued to support Army missions, adapting to evolving logistical requirements and sustaining a reputation for excellence in support operations. Over the years, the battalion underwent several inactivations and reactivations, reflecting the changing needs of the U.S. Army's force structure.
