The Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 1st Brigade, known as "Brocos," is a key command unit within the 25th Infantry Division, historically stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. The 1st Brigade has a distinguished legacy dating back to World War II, where the 25th Infantry Division earned the nickname “Tropic Lightning” for its combat prowess in the Pacific Theater. Over the decades, HHC 1st Brigade has provided essential command, control, and support to subordinate battalions during major operations, including Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. At Fort Lewis, the brigade played a pivotal role in training, readiness, and rapid deployment, embodying the division’s motto, “Ready to Strike, Ready to Win.”
