HHC 1:47th Infantry

Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment (HHC 1/47th Infantry) traces its lineage to the 47th Infantry Regiment, which was constituted in the Regular Army in 1917 and served with distinction in both World Wars. Reactivated and reorganized several times, the 1st Battalion saw significant action during the Vietnam War as part of the 9th Infantry Division, conducting riverine and counterinsurgency operations in the Mekong Delta. The battalion continued its tradition of excellence in subsequent decades, supporting training and operational missions both stateside and overseas. HHC 1/47th Infantry upholds a proud legacy of service and adaptability within the United States Army.
