U.S. Army Veteran (1980 - 1991)
I recently got married after being single for 33 years. My high school sweetheart found me on Facebook. We had not spoken or seen each other in 45 years. We went to high school in Fountain Valley, California graduating in 1980. I enlisted in the Army Oct 1980 and on the back side of a 8x10 photo from boot camp I had written a love letter to her but I never gave it to her. It stayed in my briefcase all those years... from California all the way to Germany, Southwest Asia and then to Fort Hood here in Texa!! Immediately upon our 1st conversation I sent her a picture of the letter I had written so long ago. This was on September 8, 2025; by October 1, 2025, I was on the road to Owensboro, Kentucky where she has lived since becoming a widow in Tennessee in Oct 2001. I loaded her up in my truck and swept her off to Austin Texas. Were married October 19, 2025. My message to anyone reading this..... there is ALWAYS HOPE, we never KNOW what the future holds!
