C Troop, 10th Cavalry Regiment, traces its origins to the formation of the 10th Cavalry in 1866, one of the original "Buffalo Soldier" regiments composed of African American soldiers. Throughout the Indian Wars, C Troop served with distinction on the western frontier, engaging in campaigns across the Great Plains and Southwest. The unit later participated in the Spanish-American War, including the famous charge at San Juan Hill in 1898. Over its long history, C Troop has adapted to new roles, serving in both World Wars, the Vietnam War, and modern operations, continuing its legacy of service and excellence within the U.S. Army.
