The 898th Engineer Battalion is a unit of the United States Army Reserve with a distinguished history of service. Originally constituted during World War II, the battalion provided critical engineering support in both the European and Pacific Theaters, including construction of roads, bridges, and defensive positions. In the postwar era, the 898th supported numerous stateside and overseas missions, including deployments in support of Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. Today, the battalion continues to play a vital role in military construction, combat engineering, and humanitarian assistance missions worldwide.
