The 877th Engineer Battalion is a unit of the Alabama Army National Guard with a proud history of service dating back to its establishment during World War II. Originally constituted in 1946, the battalion has participated in numerous state and federal missions, providing critical engineering support such as construction, route clearance, and infrastructure repair. The 877th has deployed overseas in support of operations including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, earning accolades for its professionalism and technical expertise. Domestically, the unit has played a vital role in disaster response efforts, assisting communities during hurricanes, floods, and other emergencies across Alabama and the southeastern United States.
