The 868th Field Artillery Battalion was an artillery unit of the United States Army activated during World War II. Constituted in 1943, the battalion trained extensively in the United States before deploying to the European Theater. It provided vital fire support during key campaigns, including the Rhineland and Central Europe operations, contributing to the Allied advance against German forces. After the war, the 868th FA Battalion was inactivated as part of the general postwar demobilization of U.S. Army units.
