The 83rd Transportation Detachment was a U.S. Army unit stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, tasked primarily with transportation and logistical support operations. Activated during the Cold War era, the detachment provided vital vehicle and cargo movement services for units training and deploying from Fort Lewis.
