73rd Engineer Battalion (Combat)

The 73rd Engineer Battalion (Combat) was originally constituted on 1 October 1933 in the Regular Army and later activated on 1 June 1941 at Camp Blanding, Florida. Throughout World War II, the battalion participated in major campaigns across the European Theater, providing vital combat engineering support such as constructing bridges, clearing obstacles, and enabling mobility for Allied forces. After the war, the unit was inactivated and reactivated several times, serving in various capacities during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and peacetime operations.
