The 65th Engineer Battalion was activated in July 1941 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. During World War II, the battalion played a crucial role in constructing airfields, roads, and defensive positions across the Pacific Theater, supporting campaigns in places such as Guadalcanal, New Georgia, and the Philippines. In subsequent decades, the 65th supported operations during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, providing critical engineering support and infrastructure development. Today, the battalion continues to serve as a vital part of the U.S. Army’s engineering capabilities, supporting both combat and humanitarian missions worldwide.
