The 62nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit has a distinguished history of providing critical bomb disposal and ordnance clearance support to military operations. Activated during World War II, the unit initially supported Allied campaigns in Europe by safely disarming unexploded enemy munitions and supporting frontline advances. Over the decades, the 62nd EOD has deployed to multiple conflict zones, including Iraq and Afghanistan, where its specialists neutralized improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and safeguarded coalition forces and civilians. Today, the unit continues to serve as an essential component of military readiness, conducting training, support, and rapid-response missions worldwide.
