The 58th Military Police (MP) Company was first constituted in 1942 during World War II, playing a vital role in securing and managing prisoner of war camps in Europe. After the war, the unit was inactivated but later reactivated for service during the Korean War, where it provided security, convoy escort, and law enforcement support for United Nations forces. Throughout the Cold War and into the modern era, the 58th MP has been stationed at various posts, including deployments in support of Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Today, the 58th MP Company continues to serve as a key element of the U.S. Army’s military police force, performing law enforcement, force protection, and combat support missions both at home and abroad.
