The 5th Battalion, 77th Field Artillery Regiment (5-77 FA) boasts a distinguished history within the U.S. Army, tracing its lineage back to the original 77th Field Artillery, constituted in 1916. The unit saw notable service during World War II, participating in campaigns across North Africa, Italy, and France. Reactivated and reorganized over the decades, 5-77 FA provided critical fire support during the Vietnam War and later served in Operation Desert Storm. In more recent years, the battalion has continued to support global operations, upholding its legacy of excellence in artillery firepower and combat readiness.
