The 55th Transportation Battalion (AAM), APO 20, Republic of Korea (ROK), was a U.S. Army logistics unit stationed in South Korea during the Cold War era. Activated to provide essential transportation and movement control support, the battalion played a critical role in sustaining U.S. and allied forces along the Korean peninsula. Its mission included the coordination and execution of air, rail, and motor transport for personnel, equipment, and supplies, ensuring rapid mobility and logistical readiness. The 55th Transportation Battalion contributed significantly to the defense posture of U.S. Forces Korea, supporting numerous exercises and real-world contingencies until its eventual inactivation.
