The 547th Medical Company (Clearing), abbreviated as 547th MED CO (CL), is a U.S. Army unit historically tasked with providing forward medical support on the battlefield. Originally constituted during World War II, the unit has been activated and inactivated several times, supporting various campaigns and operations as part of the Army’s medical service. Its primary mission involves establishing and operating clearing stations near the front lines to stabilize and treat wounded soldiers before evacuation to higher-level medical facilities. The 547th Medical Company has served with distinction in both training and operational environments, upholding the Army Medical Department’s tradition of saving lives under challenging conditions.
