5:20th Infantry

The 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment (5/20th Infantry) is a distinguished unit of the United States Army with a history dating back to its original activation in 1866. The battalion saw significant action during the Vietnam War, where it participated in numerous combat operations and earned several unit commendations for valor and performance. In the modern era, 5/20th Infantry has been part of the 1st Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, and has deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
