The 4th Infantry Division Company C (Airborne), Alaska, traces its lineage to the storied 4th Infantry Division, renowned for its involvement in major conflicts such as World War II, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terror. The Company C (Airborne) element stationed in Alaska was established to provide rapid-deployment, airborne-qualified infantry support in the challenging Arctic and subarctic environments. This unit has participated in numerous joint exercises with allied nations, specializing in cold-weather operations, airborne insertions, and tactical mobility in extreme conditions. Over the years, Company C has played a critical role in enhancing the Army’s presence and readiness in the strategically vital Pacific and Arctic regions.
