The 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment (4BN 9IN), known as "Manchu," is a distinguished unit with origins dating back to the 19th century. Assigned to the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (4th SBCT), the battalion has seen action in numerous major conflicts, including the Philippine-American War, World War II, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terrorism. As part of the 4th SBCT, 2nd Infantry Division, 4-9 IN played a significant role in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, leveraging the mobility and versatility of the Stryker vehicle. Renowned for its motto "Keep Up the Fire," the battalion continues to uphold a legacy of bravery, adaptability, and excellence in modern combat operations.
