The 48th Maintenance Squadron is a vital support unit within the United States Air Force, assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. Established to provide comprehensive aircraft and equipment maintenance, the squadron has supported a range of fighter aircraft, including the F-15 Eagle and, more recently, the F-35 Lightning II. Throughout its history, the 48th Maintenance Squadron has played a critical role in ensuring combat readiness during major operations, exercises, and deployments across Europe and the Middle East.
