The 4th Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (4/11th ACR) was activated during the Vietnam War as part of the famed “Blackhorse Regiment.” The unit deployed to Vietnam in 1969, where it conducted reconnaissance, security, and combat operations primarily in the III Corps Tactical Zone. Known for its mobility and firepower, 4/11th ACR played a crucial role in counterinsurgency missions, often engaging enemy forces in challenging terrain. After its Vietnam service, the squadron was inactivated, but the legacy of the 4/11th ACR endures as a testament to the regiment’s distinguished service.
