39th Engineering

The 39th Engineering Battalion, originally constituted during World War II, has a distinguished legacy of service in both combat and construction roles. Activated in 1942, the unit participated in major campaigns across Europe, providing critical engineering support in bridge-building, mine-clearing, and infrastructure repair. During the Vietnam War, the 39th was instrumental in constructing bases, roads, and airfields under challenging conditions.
