The 382nd Military Police Battalion was constituted on 25 October 1944 in the Army of the United States and activated on 28 October 1944 at Fort Custer, Michigan. During World War II, the battalion provided critical military police support in the European Theater, managing security, prisoner of war operations, and law enforcement duties. After the war, the unit was inactivated in Germany on 20 June 1947. Reactivated in the Army Reserve, the 382nd MP Battalion has since supported various missions, including training exercises and mobilizations for contingency operations, maintaining readiness to serve both at home and abroad.
