The 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment (3/73 CAV) is an active reconnaissance unit within the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. Reactivated in 2006, the squadron traces its lineage to earlier cavalry and anti-tank units, serving as the division's eyes and ears on the battlefield. 3/73 CAV has deployed in support of major operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, where its paratroopers have conducted reconnaissance, security, and direct action missions. Today, the unit continues to provide rapid, flexible reconnaissance capability to the 82nd Airborne Division, maintaining its readiness for global deployment.
