3:142nd Assault Helicopter Battalion

The 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment (3-142nd AHB), known as the Assault Helicopter Battalion, is a unit of the New York Army National Guard. The battalion traces its origins to the reorganization of aviation assets in the 1980s, with a primary mission of providing air assault and air movement capabilities using UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Over the years, 3-142nd AHB has participated in numerous state and federal missions, including disaster relief operations and overseas deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
