**2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery, Battery A** is a unit of the Kentucky Army National Guard with a distinguished history. The 2-138th FA traces its origins back to the early 19th century and has served in various capacities, including major mobilizations during World War I and World War II. In 1968, Battery A notably deployed to Vietnam, where it participated in the defense of Fire Support Base Tomahawk during a significant enemy assault, earning commendations for its actions. Throughout its history, Battery A has provided critical artillery support in both federal and state missions, maintaining a legacy of service and readiness.
