The 2nd Transportation Battalion (2nd Trans Bn) is a logistics unit within the United States Marine Corps, primarily responsible for providing ground transportation support for personnel, equipment, and supplies. Activated in 1950, the battalion has played a key role in numerous operations, including support missions during the Korean War, Vietnam War, Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and more recent deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the 2nd Trans Bn is part of Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group. The battalion continues to provide essential mobility and sustainment capabilities to ensure mission success for Marine Air-Ground Task Forces worldwide.
