2nd Med Battalion 2nd FSSG

The 2nd Medical Battalion, part of the 2nd Force Service Support Group (2nd FSSG), was activated to provide comprehensive medical support to the United States Marine Corps. Based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the battalion has played a crucial role in supporting Marine Expeditionary Forces by delivering health services during both peacetime and combat operations. Throughout its history, the 2nd Medical Battalion has deployed personnel and resources in major conflicts, including Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom, ensuring the health and readiness of Marines in austere environments. In 2005, the 2nd FSSG was re-designated as the 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2nd MLG), with the 2nd Medical Battalion continuing its vital mission under the new organizational structure.
