The 2nd Battalion, 75th Artillery was a field artillery unit stationed at Fliegerhorst Kaserne in Hanau, Germany, during the Cold War. Activated in the post-World War II era, the battalion was part of the U.S. Army's commitment to NATO, providing fire support for armored and infantry units in the region. Equipped with self-propelled howitzers, the battalion participated in numerous training exercises and readiness drills to deter potential aggression from Warsaw Pact forces. The unit remained in Germany until its inactivation or reassignment as part of U.S. Army force reductions in Europe in the late 20th century.
