The 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, known as "Iron Dukes," traces its lineage back to the 37th Armor, first activated in 1941. The battalion distinguished itself in World War II, participating in campaigns across North Africa and Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. During the Cold War, 2-37 Armor was stationed in Germany as part of the U.S. Army's forward presence in Europe. In recent decades, the battalion has deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom, maintaining its reputation as a premier armored force.
